Particularly high demands are made on this electric connector: within 15 to 20 minutes the battery has to be charged with a current of up to 400 A DC and a voltage of  600 V. The battery needs to be re-charged after about 300 km.

Due to the high number of mating cycles during the life-span of the electric car, ODU springwire contacts were used in this connector.
